The Daily Targum, the source for news about Rutgers University, had the opportunity to interview President Obama just one week before he is scheduled to speak at Rutgers 250th anniversary commencement. Dan Corey, Targum’s Editor-in-Chief, had a fifteen minute phone conversation with the President. One point of discussion during the interview was about the FAFSA and problems with how the Expected Family Contribution is calculated. Another discussion point Corey brought up to President Obama was potential for changes in voting systems. Corey points out that many other countries automatically register their citizens to vote, and hold voting days on National holidays or weekends. Obama agreed that it was time the United States followed in these footsteps and made some changes about the voting process. Other topics of discussion throughout the interview include: journalism in America, the Supreme Court, and economic changes in our country.
